Annual drill on marine pollution response in Thisvi Industrial Area Port Facilities

 

On Tuesday 28 November 2017 and within the framework of Thisvi Industrial Area’s Environmental Management System (certified according to ISO 14001), a group of twenty three employees participated in the annual drill on maritime pollution response in Thisvi Industrial Area port facilities. The drill was executed under the supervision and guidance of a specialized consultant on marine pollution response of METOPI.

The drill was done for first time with anchored ship to Thisvi port facilities and concerned the oil spill in the sea area  and lasted three and a half hours. The program was successfully completed with the participating employees demonstrating the required discipline and cooperation in the execution of their tasks in regards the installation of the special floating barrier, the stabilization of the equipment, the collection of waste using a special pump, the tidiness and the storage of the equipment. The Head of Domvrena’s Coast Guard station attended the drill and congratulated both, the administration and Dia.Vi.Pe.Thi.v.’s staff for the excellent organization and their readiness afterwards.
